Richard & Bryce are two of the sweetest, smartest and as Instagram knows… good looking humans around. But well beyond their attributes apart together they are a power couple and the way they look at each other makes anyone nearby get all mushy! The pair live in Chicago but managed to plan all the incredible details for their Winter Park Racquet Club wedding from afar. The day included beautiful floral signage, matching tuxes, a fabulous Mr. & Mr. cake, tears, laughter and the party of the century. Did I mention that said party got kicked off with drag queen extraordinaire Mr. Ms. Adrien?! Check out all the fun below!Read More›
Sue Bryce Paris | French Chateau workshop
This day last year I was in France at day two of a Sue Bryce workshop. If you don’t know who she is, she’s one of the photography gods known around the world for her women’s portraiture. She grew an empire based on providing women the strength and knowledge that they deserve to be professionally photographed more than just twice in a lifetime (wedding/baby). To know they’re just as beautiful at 55 as they are at 25 and that taking a day for yourself to create a piece of your history is beyond words worth it.
I had never done a workshop before but in my head it was a pilgrimage. A trip to the last place I’d visited with my mom. We had left France short during her cancer battle and I needed to finish that journey. I could think of no better way than to re-write the end of that story with a french chateau of artists letting their hearts lead them. It felt almost Renaissance-esk. From Sue’s warm inviting smile to the styling throughout the entire estate, no moment or teaching opportunity was overlooked. I definitely laughed, I definitely grew as an artist, I petted Sue’s dog more than what is probably appropriate and I may or may not have teared up like a baby on the last day. Here’s a quick peek at what the experience looked like:
Well 2016 is over and looking back we had one heck of a year. It included 35 weddings photographed and 23 weddings filmed for our Lemus duo. We had a melting pot of clients including Korean, Indian and gay (this was our favorite thing that evolved this year). We traveled for work or play to Paris, Vegas, Colorado, Chicago, Mexico, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Italy and Slovenia. Cat changed her hair color 10 times, Mike shaved his beard once and the dogs acquired 4 new seasonal costumes.
Here’s a look back at some of our fav imagery of 2016 and loving the excitement it creates for 2017!!Read More›
Last week we had the honor of being invited to the Solutions Bridal fashion show. It was an absolutely stunning event and a great time seeing a lot of our vendor friends. We arrived a little tardy because of an earlier event but I was able to capture some of the amazing gowns they presented, while trying not to swoon too hard of course. HUGE thanks to everyone who had a hand in creating the event, it was magnificent. I’m also excited to see what the other photographers & video produce… already seeing some of the work and it’s epically fun seeing how everyone creates different art from the same canvas. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the night!Read More›
Armando & Allison sealed their marriage vows in the oldest city in America this past September in stylish fashion. St. Augustine’s cobblestone streets and Spanish-Florida charm set the scene for this classic couple. From the majestic hall of Cathedral Basilica to the coquina ramparts of the Castillo de San Marcos, Armando and Allison captured their first moments in epic fashion around the city. The formal affair culminated at The Treasury on the Plaza among family and friends. Armando wooed us all with his saxophone and Allison dazzled us with her singing in a celebration of their future together. Capturing their big day was an honor and a pleasure, especially at so many delightful locations around St. Augustine.Read More›
Jonathan & Joselyn are an absolutely stunning couple who have the most loving family I’ve seen in a long time. Not only is their family filled with emotion but they have dance moves FOR DAYS!!!! They decided to have a coveted Isleworth wedding which if anyone has been out there can attest to just how wonderful both the lush grounds and the balconied ballroom are (check out that chandelier!!). Their ceremony was filled with smiles and we had peeks of sunshine between rain clouds which magically stayed away until right after the I Dos. The party continued with the amazing food of Isleworth, a mariachi band, and lots of partying!Read More›
I seriously don’t even know where to start. Nick and Amy’s big greek wedding on every level was just incredible… even down to the moment the internet told us we missed sunset and 20 minutes later we found out the internet was a liar. Honestly, what kind of zeus magic did they conjure?? Their bridal party was a group that sang, danced and made human pyramids before a drop of alcohol was even mentioned. And their family was so happy and caring, I felt beyond lucky to be in the warmth of their love for a day. You can easily see the fun that happened from minute one to the midnight fireworks outside Safety Harbor Resort! So much congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Sakis!Read More›
Ok so Bill & Cecelia are two of the most adventurous, infectiously happy people I’ve ever met. We first met over brunch and talked for near two hours about festivals and travel and the amazing things I’d like them to pack me in their bag for! I knew just by the amount of laughter that day that their Alfond Inn wedding would be something special. They planned a brunch wedding, a first for me but hopefully not a last because it was awesome. The french macaron centerpieces also doubled as guest favors which is truly genius and their blow up photo booth was a hit. My favorite part of the day though was when they decided post wedding to take the horse and carriage to get ice cream on park avenue, make sure you scroll to the bottom to see just how much fun they had!Read More›
From sunny 70s to a blizzard that shut down the city 2 days before the big day, the adventure leading up to wedding day was a bit crazy. But for Nicole and Aaron when life hands you a mountain of snow, you strap on some boots and have a ridiculously beautiful wedding on it. A crew of their closest friends and family flew in from around the country and two by two took the ski lift up to their beautiful Black Mountain Lodge wedding. Nicole was draped in a stunning floor length white cape and as she walked down the aisle towards her forever prince the snow stopped and for the only time that day blue skies peeked behind the mountains as if God himself wanted front row seats. I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful moment but I know these two will continue to make them for the rest of their lives and I’m so excited I got to be there to see the start of their journey.Read More›
